The German Revolution of 1918/19 did not stall in the face of the victory of democracy. The revolution led to the abdication of the German Emperor, the end of the monarchy, and the establishment of a democratic republic. However, the new Weimar Republic faced significant challenges, including political instability, economic hardship, and social unrest. These challenges ultimately contributed to the rise of extremist political movements, such as the Nazis, and the eventual collapse of the Weimar Republic. Therefore, while the revolution initially led to the victory of democracy, the subsequent difficulties and the rise of extremism ultimately undermined its success. **

The basic compromises of 1918 refer to the agreements made during the Treaty of Versailles that ended World War I. The main compromises included Germany accepting full responsibility for the war, paying reparations to the Allied powers, losing territory and colonies, and reducing its military capabilities. These compromises were aimed at punishing Germany for its role in the war and preventing it from posing a threat to European security in the future. However, many historians argue that the harsh terms of the Treaty of Versailles ultimately contributed to the rise of Adolf Hitler and the outbreak of World War II. **

Germany didn't continue fighting in 1918 because they were facing a deteriorating military situation. The Allied forces had made significant advances on the Western Front, and the German army was exhausted and demoralized. Additionally, the German home front was experiencing severe shortages of food and supplies, leading to widespread unrest and strikes. The German leadership realized that they were no longer able to sustain the war effort and sought an armistice to avoid further devastation. **

After his release, he focused on rebuilding the Nazi Party and gaining political power, eventually becoming Chancellor of Germany in 1933 and later consolidating his power as dictator. **
